We are looking for a proactive and skilled Consumer Insight Executive to join the Insight team. This role is critical to supporting Gymshark’s Insight function, enabling better, more informed business decisions to be made by ensuring insight is delivered across the business efficiently and effectively. The Consumer arm of the Insight team is a new addition which will focus on exploring wider audience insights to enable Gymshark to reach its ambitious growth targets. 
Reporting to the Consumer Insight Manager, you will play a key role in collaborating with stakeholders to understand their function’s priorities and ambitions to enable you to build a clear picture of their insight needs – and then investigating the best approach to deliver both strategic and agile research projects to inform and inspire business decisions. 

A successful candidate will be self-sufficient and proactive about their work. They should be constantly seeking innovation in the way they do things to drive efficiency and efficacy and will have a positive, open mentality when faced with changes within the business. They will also need to be proficient in PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook and would have previous experience with writing questionnaire scripts, building surveys and moderating online forums or focus groups. The candidate should also have experience managing multiple projects both internally and with external partners. Strong time management, high attention to detail and open honest communication skills are also essential. 

This role is perfect for someone who has experience working in a commercial research/insight role (agency or client-side) and is seeking a new challenge in a fast-paced business environment. There will also be mentoring opportunities with our Junior Research Executives, enabling you to take a step towards a managerial position.

  • Collaborating with stakeholders to unearth their insight needs, managing that relationship, and their expectations, effectively 
  • Lead the day to day running and delivery of insight projects, with support from Junior Insight Executive
  • Managing external partners – reaching out to new and current partners, working together on research briefs, challenging on their approach, championing research excellence and our needs and shaping an actionable output 
  • Running agile/internal research studies: writing screeners, designing questionnaires, building surveys, analysing data, charting and finding the story in data 
  • Leveraging our secondary research resources and drawing your own conclusions, arriving on relevant conclusions to support specific stakeholder projects 
  • Writing reports/debriefs and presenting findings to a variety of stakeholders, as well as your own implications and proposed ‘next steps’ – always arriving at a point of view of what his means for Gymshark 
  • Support the Consumer Insight Manager on strategic research projects and helping maintain partner relationships
  • Taking ownership of the ‘Research Roadmap’ and ensuring everything is in place for launch on upcoming projects 
  • Championing insight within the business and having a point of view 
  • An undergraduate degree in Research, Business or Marketing or equivalent 
  • Proven experience working in a commercial environment (can include placement year)
  • Experience in a Research/Insight role in a commercial environment
  • Evidence of managing supplier/partner relationships and a proven track record in the effective delivery of external projects into the business 
  • Experience in both quantitative and qualitative research techniques: strong quantitative skills are a must – experience in developing questionnaires, charting and analysing data is essential 
  • Willingness to learn and develop qualitative research skills 
  • Confidence in building relationships with key stakeholders and presenting 
  • Clear IT literacy and a ninja at using Excel, PowerPoint and MS Word
  • Strong literacy skills and communication skills with incredible attention to detail 
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills
  • Ability the find the story within data – both primary and secondary, and to unearth the actionable insights that solve business challenges
  • A firm but fair approach – not afraid to challenge stakeholders and research partners
