Gymshark is a global fitness apparel & accessories brand, manufacturer and online retailer supported by millions of highly engaged social media followers and customers in 177 countries. Our development team is wholly responsible for the development of our 13 (at the time of writing) online stores, associated applications, integrations and software. We are an agile team applying the company’s ethos, ‘Be a visionary’, to the software aspect of the business.

As a frontend developer within Gymshark you will play a key role in developing online retail experiences at incredible scale and have the opportunity to make a real difference to the way millions of our supporters engage with our brand on a daily basis.

  • A hands-on front end web development role, helping to develop Gymshark’s ecommerce website and associated systems
  • Focus on creating clean, well optimised code that work at scale
  • Working in the IT team with an Agile development approach
  • Working closely with Gymshark’s website manager and Head of Development

  • Good inter-personal skills – we’re a big team of people and you’ll be expected to communicate well, and often!
  • 5+ years commercial experience
  • Frontend development languages (HTML/CSS/JS)
  • Experience with JS Frameworks (React, Vue and/or Node are preferable)
  • Developing with CSS pre-processors (LESS, SASS, etc.)
  • Experience with development toolchain and task runners (Gulp/Grunt/Webpack)
  • Integrating dynamic content solutions with API Services
  • Developing with prototype frameworks (Bootstrap, Foundation, etc.)
  • A good demonstrable grasp of version control systems (we use GIT)
  • Experience in solving cross-browser/platform issues
  • Experience with agile development and best practices
  • Conversion rate optimisation or data-driven product development 
  • Demonstrable experience with templating languages (languages like Liquid, Twig, Handlebars, Mustache, JSX…or any others you have worked with)
  • Excellent time management, problem solving, teamwork, and communication skills
  • Effectively communicating design ideas and solutions to clients and team members 
  • Experience working on high traffic websites
