We must ensure that this devotion is shared by all Gymshark partners, including suppliers and affiliates and we work collaboratively with them to ensure the impact of our brand, at every touch point, is a positive one, from supply chain to gym floor.  As part of this commitment we are seeking an Ethical Compliance Manager to join the Sustainability team.  Reporting into the Head of Sustainability, the Ethical Compliance Manager will play a pivotal part in ensuring that our vision is upheld throughout our supply chain.  The Ethical Compliance Manager will be driving the implementation of key projects, including managing Gymshark’s journey to accreditation by the Fair Labor Association, creation of KPI’s and development and delivery of training.  For this we need a versatile individual with demonstrated experience in ethical compliance in global supply chains, including undertaking supplier assessments, root cause analysis, remediation as well as comprehensive knowledge of ethical compliance.

The scope of the role involves collaborative working with our sourcing, product development, product marketing, sales and demand planning teams, as well as development of strong working relationships with our supply partners.


WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
  • Drive the implementation of Gymshark’s ethical/responsible sourcing strategy throughout the global supply base and support partners in ensuring standards are implemented and maintained
  • Support the development of tools to evaluate supplier performance to the Gymshark code of conduct including KPIs and supplier scorecards
  • Ensure that information gathered through pre-sourcing assessments is analysed in a timely manner, that any requirements to progress are shared with the Sourcing team, and that these requirements are monitored accordingly
  • Review and risk score ethical assessments conducted by the social compliance team in line with the Gymshark code of conduct and responsible sourcing policy
  • Support the social compliance team with follow-ups on corrective action plans, taking a root cause analysis approach and implementing remediation plans where necessary
  • Supporting the development and implementation of a ‘beyond audit’ approach in our supplier assessments
  • Conduct due diligence and risk assessments on potential partners in conjunction with the Hong Kong Social compliance team and any 3rd party assessors
  • Prepare and collate information, analyse and make recommendations in order to support decision making and KPI reporting in line with business objectives
  • Keep an up-to-date assessment of risks within our supply chain
  • Responsible for project managing the Fair Labor Association accreditation process including development of standard operating procedures related to FLA affiliation
  • Development and delivery of training in relation to ethical compliance to relevant members of the Gymshark team that ensure capability is developed in line with delivery of our responsible sourcing commitments
  • Identify training requirements of our supply partners and deliver training in order to ensure that improvements can be measured in line with Gymshark’s responsible sourcing commitments
  • Ensure consistency in development and implementation of policies in relation to responsible sourcing across all Gymshark offices
  • Provide accurate information for sharing externally through the transparency website and work closely with the Brand teams to ensure it is communicated in line with the company values
  • Develop reports, presentations and updates on key trends and findings for the head office and regional sourcing teams
  • Risk assess supply base for modern slavery and develop approaches to ensure we can identify, mitigate and remediate any occurrence of modern slavery within our supply chain
  • Preparation of KPI’s and data collation to share with our Legal team for use in updating our modern slavery statement
  • Stay informed of key regulatory, technical and industry requirements and trends in relation to responsible sourcing through ongoing professional development and representing the business at industry events
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
  • Previous experience of working in an ethical compliance role, ideally with practical assessor/auditing experience and SA8000 lead auditor trained, and able to risk assess production facilities from an ethical point of view
  • Someone who has experience across a global supply chain and understands the various and often complicated factors that can contribute to issues influencing workplace practices
  • Demonstrated experience implementing social compliance projects, ideally within the textile sector
  • Commitment and passion for the positive impact that business can make to society, with a proven interest in labour rights, human rights and corporate social responsibility with the ability to also be business minded
  • Ability to create strong and meaningful relationships with stakeholders including internal teams, suppliers and factories, and any other 3rd party organisations in order to drive change
  • Good commercial awareness and an understanding of how social and environmental compliance supports business relationships
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, experience with utilising continuous improvement methodologies such as root cause analysis and an understanding of lean manufacturing principles
  • Ability to collect, analyse and evaluate data so that it can provide meaningful insight as well as being able to clearly articulate complex challenges to stakeholders
  • Able to work on own initiative, with excellent time management skills, and the ability to adapt, multi-task and prioritise activities
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written including proficient use of MS Office
  • Even though this position currently does not have any direct reports leadership experience will be helpful to the role
  • Willing to travel and flexibility when required for attending events or supplier visits which may occur during evenings and weekends
