We are looking for a Materials Technologist, who will be the key person to manage the materials sourcing in the Near East (NE) region. You will work closely with Hong Kong and GSHQ materials teams and will be responsible to ensure the materials used by NE suppliers meet our global materials standards in alignment with seasonal materials strategies.


Management and Support: 

  • Support materials team with identifying new commercial opportunities and fabric and trim suppliers from NE region
  • Own and manage assigned fabric, trim sourcing and testing for the assigned product category for NE region
  • Help Develop/improve SOP’s together with the global materials teams and communicate SOP’s to NE supply chain partners
  • Be responsible and key point of contact for the whole seasonal fabric and trim developments, testing, samplings and bulk production process and on time deliveries for NE region
  • Identify quality issues, monitor and report on root cause analysis & corrective actions and provide guidance to team on the effective resolution of quality issues
  • Partner with mills and vendors to resolve technical limitations of new raw fabric and trim and provide solutions to quality issues
  • Assist to finalize fabric and trim details, prices, surcharges, lead times and order/colour minimum to meet calendar deadlines
  • Support with all sustainability goals as required and report all relevant data and progress


  • Support the strategic growth opportunities building a world class fabric and trim supply base in the NE region
  • Support with Sourcing team to determine countries of production for all new fabric and trims


  • Develop and maintain a good relationship with Materials team (Fabric Developers, Trims Developer, Colourist and Testing Manager) and related parties as well as with supply chain partners
  • Partnership with Sustainability team on key goals pertaining to the complete supply chain leading up to and including fabric and trim manufacturers


  • Assist materials team in the tracking of fabric/trims development KPIs for materials development, colour development and bulk production
  • Good knowledge on performance materials sourcing as well as development with a commercial and results-oriented mindset
  • The ability to expand the supplier base to accommodate company's future material growth strategies
  • Good understanding of fabric/trims manufacturing and testing as per industry standards
  •  Higher diploma or above in Textiles engineering
  • Solid experience in fabric and trims
  • Good understanding of materials testing standards
  • Experience working in global / regional markets
  • Excellent negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Mature, organized, details-minded, self-motivated, proactive and willing to face challenges
  • Fluent in written & spoken English
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite
  • Stable working records are preferred
