OVERVIEW:
The Social Disruption Lead role offers a unique opportunity for a social media aficionado looking to make a global impact.Reporting directly to the Head of Social Content, you will be responsible for helping expand Gymshark’s Social Media footprint both from a global and regional platform perspective. As a key function within the Social Content team, we will depend on you to be the eyes and ears of the ever-changing social landscape. The ideal candidate must have a passion for producing viral content and the technical ability to bring complex social media concepts to life.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
• Viral custodian, ensuring that Gymshark is continually at the forefront of conversation and is leading the way from a social innovation perspective
• Social media enthusiast, obsessed with user behaviour and is constantly aware of what is happening outside of the Gymshark eco-system
• Identify and grow new social media accounts that will enable the brand to expand its social footprint and never lose touch with the Social Native
• Create, own and manage disruption processes that allows us to ensure we are always reacting to current conversation and first to market with new social media platforms and developments.
• Frequently test new platform features to ensure that the brand is continuously ahead of the competition and capitalise on preferential algorithms
• Create a Social Disruption strategy that will allow the brand to exceed KPI’s and solidify its innovative status
• Creative and viral thinker, continually finding new ways to overcome complicated social media challenges and restrictions from a concept and technical perspective
• Collaborate with Social Media representatives to create unique platform experiences that generate hype and excitement towards the brand
• Provide guidance and support to key stakeholders, by running brainstorms and knowledge shares to get the wider team up to speed with the future state of social
• Develop and manage relationships with social channel representatives and go to market functions to dentify new ways of disrupting platform experiences and leverage new developments to influence our way of working.
• Recruit, develop and manage junior members of the social community team. Ensure that team members are fully equipped with the appropriate training and resources to fulfil their responsibilities
• Get to know your team, what makes them tick, build trust through understanding their pinch points, show empathy, support and stay in touch
• Manage team workflow, ensuring that our social disruption efforts drive impact
• Be curious - guide, share and empower to avoid being the single source of complete
• knowledge. Encourage ideas and autonomy
• Motivate your team by rewarding, recognising & reinforcing positive behaviour
• Manage the Social Disruption budget and build reporting frameworks to evaluate the return on investment.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
  • Naturally curious thinker, self-driven character with a passion for creating innovative content
  • Line management experience in a Social Media role is essential
  • Strong familiarity and understanding of social media platforms such as Instagram, Tik Tok, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and
  • Snapchat required
  • Strong sense of responsibility, takes ownership, self-starter and proactive attitude
  • Good mix of technical understanding and creative thinking
  • Must be comfortable presenting concepts and ideas to a variety of audiences
  • You will be a strong communicator with the ability to articulate complex topics both verbally and in writing to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with both technical and non-technical colleagues, translating complex concepts into simple terms when required
  • Strong project management and prioritisation skills
  • Agile to change and pragmatic, you'll be a collaborative team player and be comfortable working in a high pressure, fast paced environment where identifying needs, providing solutions and adding value is a prerequisite
  • Commercial awareness and a creative problem solver with the ability to think laterally and understand the cost and value drivers within a competitive business environment
  • High degree of professional ethics, integrity and gravitas
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or related disciplines desirable
  • Flexibility towards out of hours and unsociable hours if required
