As Head of Research US you will be responsible for building out the research team in Gymshark’s newly established Denver office as part of the wider Insights function. This leader is tasked with ensuring that the Gymshark North America business has a deep understanding of our customers, the wider audience (the conditioning community), and the competitive market in which we operate (market size, share, competitor intelligence etc.). 

Please note this position requires you to work in our downtown Denver, CO office, remote working is not available for this role. 
  • Own the development and execution of Gymshark North America’s research strategy, enabling Gymshark to maximize the potential and commercial value of research.
  • Support the VP of Insight with the development and execution of a world class insight strategy by proving leadership and constructive challenge.
  • Build, manage and deliver highly localized customer, audience and market research capabilities, influencing go-to-market decisions to enable the business to maintain its rapid growth and strength of community.
  • Lead and inspire a fast-growing team to deliver the planned data and insight strategy in North America.
  • Hire, support, and develop additional research team specialists to deliver against the North America research roadmap. 
  • Manage North America relationships with existing global research partners, and identify and own relationships with regional research partners as required to deliver against the North America research roadmap.
  • Champion research and insight across the Gymshark North America business, raising its profile by being a visible and accessible insight leader, ensuring decisions made are data led and encouraging constant collaboration across functions.
  • Courageously and assertively challenge decisions and strategies across the business, ensuring plans are data driven.
  • Build strong relationships with business leaders, ensuring all business functions understand the value of insight, driving positive change and creating a data led culture.
  • Ensure a complete view of our customers is created through a joined-up approach between the customer research and customer analytics teams where appropriate.
  • Embed insights through the telling of compelling insight stories that are inspiring, understandable and drive action.
  • Own and maintain the North America research roadmap, developed as a sub-set of the global research roadmapin close collaboration with the Global research team in the UK. Ensure projects are prioritized effectively and provide deliverables that align with relevant timelines across the insight team and the wider business.
  • Own the regular delivery of key customer and market metrics (e.g. NPS, CSAT, brand equity, awareness, market share etc.) to the North America team, in strong collaboration with the Global Research team in the UK. Use results to drive visibility and accountability across the business, whilst also ensuring that the senior leadership team are always informed on these KPIs and using them to guide strategic decisions.
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a research, marketing or business-related discipline.
  • Extensive line management experience, including developing and growing a team.
  • Experience within a research management role where you have delivered insights that have influenced decisions from senior decision makers, delivering positive business results.
  • Exceptional people management skills with the ability to lead and inspire a team.
  • Excellent negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with third parties, ensuring all partners are trusted and act as an extension of the business.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to educate teams on how insight can support them, along with the ability to be assertive in challenging decisions and requests from stakeholders at all levels.
  • An expert communicator and storyteller, able to explain insights uncovered in a compelling and engaging way, always reinforcing the ‘so what’ and providing actionable recommendations.
  • In-depth understanding of both qualitative and quantitative research techniques, with the ability to advise on and challenge chosen methodologies, ensuring the right techniques are used to complete insight projects.
